Raised Beds were made by the high school Shop class, started making them in fall semester 2024 and finished with the last raised bed January 2025. Lumber from RP lumber in Taylorville, IL. Grant from the Springfield Civic Garden Club Grant April 2024. Installation of Raised Beds will be spring of 2025 before March 31st.
These raised beds 50 donated by a community member and supporter, 125 purchased with fundraiser proceeds, a Couple with their son donated time, fuel, truck trailer to pick up , load, deliver and unload at Emerald Gardens, Gardens of Generosity site project. Bricks Donated by community members and businesses.
Our Partnership and mutual support of organizations that help our communities is important to us at EG. DSWL is a wonderful nonprofit that provides FREE, YES YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY :) free meals to the community. DSWL serves and brings the meal and drinks to you for a restaurant feel so community can gather and visit building lasting bonds and making our community stronger. This monthly meal is served on the 3rd Saturday every month. Located most months at Calvary Baptist Church in Taylorville on hwy 29 not far from Neal tire, or DQ. Join DSWL monthly for amazing meals and great company.
